The ‘AI-Assisted Music Creation Workshop and Seminar’ is a two-day event featuring workshops, seminar, and docent tours. It aims to provide participants with an accessible yet in-depth understanding of the latest trends and challenges of AI in music creation. The event will explore how AI can inspire creativity while maintaining the creator’s artistic autonomy, opening up new possibilities for innovation. Through industry exchanges and discussions, the event seeks to deepen the conversation around AI's role in music, emphasizing respect for traditional music copyrights while exploring a symbiotic relationship between AI and musical creativity. The goal is to establish the correct creative mindset and copyright awareness.

Event Details:
Participants will learn and practise AI-assisted music creation, focusing on enhancing production efficiency while maintaining personal creativity. The workshop covers music composition, arrangement, etc. Groups will create a short music piece, with a selected work to be performed by HKDI Virtual Idol Vi, and made into a music video for public showcase the next day.

This workshop will explore AI-assisted vocal creation, recording, and mixing for virtual idols, showcasing the process of voice model generation.

- Open to CASH members only via this platform. Participants may include HKDI students and members of co-organisers, with a total capacity of 30.
- Applicants must have music creation or production experience.
- Workshops involve practical group composition, with potential promotional use of created works. By submitting the application form, the applicant agrees that the permanent usage rights of the works created during the workshop will belong to the organisers and co-organisers, and may be used for future promotional, reporting, and publicity purposes. If applicants require third party authorisation before using their personal works, relevant information must be submitted to the organisers and co-organisers, during application. If there is any omission in the declaration leading to a violation of contractual terms, the applicants will bear full responsibility, and the organisers and co-organisers, will not be liable.
- Selected applicants will be notified by email on or before mid-June and must complete deposit payment of HKD300 via bank transfer within the given timeframe. Late responses will be regarded forfeiting the qualification. Please stay tuned to notifications; Participants who complete all required activities will receive a full refund of the deposit within one month following the event. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.
- Participants must ensure that their workshop-created works are original, free of pornographic, violent, or offensive language, and do not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any individuals or organisations or violate any laws or regulations. If at any point a work is found to have infringed on someone else's intellectual property, the participant shall bear all legal responsibility, and the organisers and co-organisers, shall not be held liable for any such legal obligations.
- Participants must attend the entire workshop and may undergo post-workshop refinement after Day 1 workshop if their work is selected for music video production. The organisers reserve the right to terminate a participant’s qualification at any time.
- Absentees must notify CASH in advance, but the deposit is non-refundable.
Additional Workshop (II) will be conducted in live video conference from
a classroom, allowing real-time viewing and interaction.
Applicants who applied for Workshop (I & II) and Seminar but
were not accepted will be given priority.

Industry experts will share insights and case studies on how AI-generated music is reshaping the music industry, while discussing the importance of music copyright protection. HKDI will also provide an exclusive sharing and explain the production process of Hong Kong’s first Virtual Idol, Vi.
The seminar will conclude with a showcase of a selected workshop-created
music video featuring the performance of
Virtual Idol, Vi.

The guided tour will be led by HKDI, taking participants in groups to
visit and experience the academy's music knowledge hub, V Music Library,
as well as the graduation exhibition venue.
